The Arc Mid-Hudson celebrates locals who help to make a difference
Kingston, NY. The Arc Mid-Hudson celebrated their 39th Humanitarian Awards Brunch on Sunday, July 18th, at Ole Savannah Southern Table and Bar in Kingston, NY. This annual event pays homage to local people and businesses who tirelessly and effortlessly lend their support to The Arc Mid-Hudson’s mission “To empower people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to achieve and experience the highest quality of life.”
This long-awaited event, which was postponed due to the pandemic, was reimagined this year changing from a formal dinner to a business casual brunch. This allowed over 140 attendees to enjoy a delicious brunch outside with waterfront views of the historic Rondout Creek while honoring the dedication of those who were nominated to receive awards. Among the attendees were a couple of notable dignitaries; Assemblyman Thomas Abinanti from Westchester County, and Kevin R. Bryant, Esq. from the City of Kingston Corporation Counsel.
The winners who were honored for their dedication to the people and programs that are supported by The Arc Mid-Hudson include:
Humanitarian of the Year: Bob Siracusano and Sawyer Motors
Jack Deyo Award for Advocacy: Susan Lucas
Heart of Gold: Nadine Ferraro
Personal Achievement Award: Jess Puccio
Employee of the Year: Chris Dugan
Employer of the Year: Westwind Orchard
“I was quite honored and taken back to receive the Humanitarian of the Year award. I am here to help people, I really am. The Arc Mid-Hudson makes everyone feel like family and why wouldn’t I want to be a part of that? I believe in everything they do and I want to say thank you for letting me be a part of your family.” said Bob Siracusano.
In addition to honoring these women, men, and businesses, Rifton Equipment, Rifton, NY and Hudson Regional LTC Pharmacy, Middletown, NY were awarded certificates for being Platinum Sponsors of The Arc Mid-Hudson. Sponsors of The Arc Mid-Hudson are an integral part of being able to hold events, fundraise, support individuals who receive services, and help to make the offered programs even better.
“It is always an honor to be part of the celebration that recognizes those who have dedicated their time and support to help us improve the lives of over 1800 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each of our honorees help to make The Arc Mid-Hudson an exceptional organization,” stated Executive Director, John McHugh.
